Session Description: Join TJ McKenna as he guides you in learning about knowledge building and how facilitators-in-training can learn to lead. This presentation will be less about training- the-trainer and more about growing into a way of thinking, a culture of learning, and, ultimately, an approach to facilitators reinventing their own educational environment. In order to reach the ambitious vision called for in the Framework and NGSS requires PD at scale. While scholars have focused on essential features of PD, little attention has been paid to the preparation or role of the PD facilitators. Attendees will learn how to structure science PD that leads to learning and will see examples of this work in practice.
