
The Rising Tides of Science Education: Preparing Our Students for Global Leadership June 28 - July 2, 2007
Program: The institute program is high quality professional development to support both experienced and emerging leaders who serve with schools, school districts, institutions of high education, informal science institutions, and professional organizations in an instructional and/or leadership capacity. Participants will study and network to develop and maintain effective leadership skills in science education. Institute strands will focus on STEM Education Leadership for the 21st Century, The Future of Science Education, The Future of Instructional Technology, and The Future of Science Teacher Preparation and Retention.

Location: Asilomar Conference Grounds, known as Monterey Peninsula's "Refuge by the Sea" is located on 107 acres of beachfront land, within the scenic town of Pacific Grove, California. Surrounded by pristine natural beauty, Asilomar is ideal for bird watching, strolls along the beach, and leisurely bike rides. Neighboring Monterey and Carmel are famous for world-class golf, wine tasting, festivals, boating, superb dining, shopping and sightseeing. Popular attractions include the Monterey Bay Aquarium, scenic 17-Mile Drive, Cannery Row, and Fisherman’s Wharf.
