Outstanding Leadership in Science Education Award (OLISE)

Award:
Since 1979, Prentice Hall Publishing Company, in cooperation with the National Science Education Leadership Association, has presented the prestigious Outstanding Leadership in Science Education Award to an outstanding member who leads the school, school district, region, state, or area as science supervisor.
NSELA accepts peer nominations of a member from any school to honor with this award, acknowledging the outstanding contributions made to improve science education, teaching and/or curriculum.
A Prentice Hall dignitary presents the recipient with a plaque and a $1,000 check during the reception held in the winner's honor on Wednesday evening following the NSELA Mini-Conference held at the National Convention of the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA).
Eligibility:
Any member is invited to nominate a worthy colleague. Both nominator and nominee must be NSELA members in good standing.
Deadline:

Award Selection:
A ten member Awards Committee judges each application. The Awards Committee represents all regions of the nation and many are past recipients of this award. The chairperson of the committee will notify the awardee and all nominees.
Recognition:
The Outstanding Leader in Science Education will be recognized in the following manner:
a. Presented with a Prentice Hall plaque and a $1,000 check at the Wednesday evening reception at the NSTA Convention.
b. Acknowledged and introduced during the Scott Foresman NSELA Breakfast/Annual Meeting on Thursday morning at the NSTA Convention.
c. Acknowledged and introduced during the AETS/NSELA Luncheon, Friday at noon at the NSTA Convention. A ticket for the Friday luncheon will be furnished by NSELA.
d. One year free membership to NSELA
e. An article detailing the awardee's contributions will be included in The Navigator, the NSELA newsletter, that is published quarterly.
