Today is the Final Day of the Virtual Summer Leadership Institute

The Virtual Summer Leadership Institute has been happening all week and it has been a great opportunity to participate in informative and relevant sessions.

Today is our final day of the conference! It is from 11am - 1:30 pm CST and is FREE for NSELA members. The recordings and handouts will be available after the conference for all NSELA members.

Today's sessions are:

Angela Calabrese Barton and Edna Tan - "Moving Beyond Equity as Inclusion: Working Towards Rightful Presence in Science Teaching and Learning"

  • In this session we provide an overview to the Rightful Presence Framework, developed on-the-ground with partner teachers, to guide justice-centered efforts in the teaching and learning of science. Case studies from partner teacher classrooms across settings will be used to illuminate key points.More info to come.

Barbara Taylor and Tracey Ramirez - "Classroom Walk Through – Supporting Implementation of 3-D Science"

  • In this session, participants will explore a tool designed to help administrators, science coordinators, and science coaches collect data around the level of implementation of 3-dimensional science teaching and learning. This tool’s look-fors can support instructional decision-making regarding the science program on your campus or in your district.
