NSELA Call for 2008 Nominations

NSELA is pleased to put forth a Call for Nominations for the 2008 election. Positions open this year are:

President-Elect
Treasurer
Region B Director ( NY, NJ, PA)
Region E Director ( IL, IN, MI, MN, WI, KS, OH, CO, IA, MO, NE, ND, SD, MT, WY )

Qualifications:
President-Elect
Candidates for President-Elect must be members in good standing of NSELA and have NSELA board experience.

Treasurer
Candidates for Treasurer must be members in good standing of NSELA.

Regional Director
Candidates for District Director must be members in good standing of NSELA in one of the states of the region open for election.

Submit a Nomination

Nominations may be made online below or sent to Nominations Chair, Pat Shane (pshane@unc.edu). If you submit via email, please be sure to include both the nominator and nominee contact information and indicate for which office the person is being nominated.

Nominations are due no later than December 1, 2007.

Election Schedule

Each office is a three-year term. The Presidency will serve on the Executive Board for a period of three years. Over the three years, he/she will serve as President-Elect, President, and Retiring President with each being a one-year term.

Officers shall assume their offices at the conclusion of the annual membership meeting at which their election is announced with the exception of the Treasurer who takes office at the beginning of the fiscal year, July 1 – June 30. The annual membership meeting is typically held on the last Thursday morning in March.

President-Elect: yearly

Treasurer: 2005, 2008, 2011, 2014, 2017, etc. (see term notice above)

Secretary: 2006, 2009, 2012, 2015, 2018, etc.

Two Regional Directors shall be elected each year in the following manner:

Regions A and C: 2007, 2010, 2013, 2016, 2019, etc.
Regions B and E: 2005, 2008, 2011, 2014, 2017, etc.
Regions D and F: 2006, 2009, 2012, 2015, 2018, etc.

Region A: CT, MA, NH, RI, VT, ME
Region B: NY, NJ, PA
Region C: DE, DC, MD, VA, NC, SC, WV, FL, GA, TN, KY
Region D: LA, TX, OK, AR, MS, AL, NM
Region E: IL, IN, MI, MN, WI, KS, OH, CO, IA, MO, NE, ND, SD, MT, WY
Region F: CA, WA, OR, ID, AK, HI, NV, AZ, UT, US Territories & Intl. Chapters
