The mission of the Informal Science Education Committee of the National Science Education Leadership Association is to facilitate a meaningful exchange of ideas and beliefs between formal and informal education agencies and individuals.
Goals:
Increase awareness of the role of informal science in the science education leadership arena.
The current primary strategy for accomplishing our goals is enhancing awareness of the active role of NSELA members in promoting informal science within the science education community through publications and presentations.
Other strategies include:
• Put forth ideas for discussion
• Provide information on informal education issues
• Provide information on informal education meetings
• Provide lists of significant informal science education publications
• Provide information on science education centers
